Configure a Network POS Setup

The same installer/runtime is used for standalone and multi-device shops. The key difference is the database URL: every POS client points to the same central MySQL server.

Choose the database machine

Use one reliable computer or server as the MySQL host. It may also run Saleculator as the main POS if the shop needs that.

Allow LAN access

Permit MySQL access from the POS devices on the local network and create a database user with the required Saleculator permissions.

Install each POS

Install Saleculator on every counter machine using the same release package.

Use one database URL

In First Run Setup or the configuration screen, set every machine's db.URL to the central MySQL host, port, and database.

Checklist

Before handing over the POS

Use static IP or reliable local DNS for the MySQL host so POS clients do not lose the database after router changes.
Test billing from each POS machine before go-live.
Back up the central database regularly because all counters depend on it.
